A trip to the city unthinkable, the Mall unbearable, and tick-tock, tick-tock, time’s a wastin’.
I head out of Baker Square apartments and run up to Flat Black, I need coffee to think, and re-do my list from well thought out and ‘just for you’ gift list to what to the what ‘the hell am I gonna do now’ list. Flat Black gifts certificates are a start, I buy five for the workin’ kids, as I head out the door.
I need a few of baby gifts and I actually know where to get that! Within walking distance no less. I head up Dorchester Blvd to Carney Hospital and the best kept secret around…their gift shop! Adorable stuff; I pick up two stuffed animals and a couple of books. Man I maybe on my way.
Heading back toward the Center, I stop at CVS for stocking stuffers playful ornaments and CVS gift cards, then over to Metamorphosis for some lottery tickets Now we’re crankin’.
I need more cash, a quick stop at Meeting House Bank, and never lose my stride. Right next door is Pat’s Pizza. I decide to get a holiday Pizza Party gift certificate my pals at Forbes House Museum, they have been working very hard over there. The place has never been so merrier or brighter.
More gift certificate ideas hit me as I head to Curl Up ‘n Dye for a couple of gift certificates for facials! Just the ticket for two cousins.
I race to the corner of Adams and Dorchester Ave, and stop short when I realize that the Ice Creamsmith is closed for the season. How could I forget, I have been going through withdrawals since they closed! But no gift certificates from there.
Undaunted, I head onward. I do need a couple of specialty items and stop at Streamline, Dark Horse and Homestretch Antiques. I find more that I I put on hold and will bring my aunts to take a look.
I am trying to do this without driving and believe it or not I am almost done! Before I head for home, however one more stop for a Ledge gift certificates! Great food!
Well, now I am certainly not feeling like a louse! Because all through the house, my gifts are all wrapped and stacked in plain sight. So, I said to my self as I turned on my lights, a Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

OUR STORY When we opened Cedar Grove Gardens, in 1980, our intentions were to provide the the neighborhood with bedding plants and perennials. Fresh cut flowers were an after thought. We have since evolved into a full service flower and gift shop & garden center. For the last 15 years we have branched out to provide the area with unique and unusual gifts from local and global providers. We are now one of the more distinctive flower & gift shops in the Boston area. Our buyers have an eye for the unusual, but at the same time, a sense of what appeals to many. We have chosen a unique line of gift products with a natural and artistic approach always influencing us. Our store displays are delightful and creative. Your Cedar Grove Gardens visit becomes multi dimensional as you pick up ideas for your own projects or home decorating, while you shop. Our community involvement goes beyond our annual Scarecrow Festival. Many local fund raisers, including hospitals, schools and churches are enhanced by our floral donations and organizational skills and contributions. We're proud of our community and bring to it principles of integrity, innovation, openness, and above all respect for the customers we serve. The gratitude we get from our customers and neighbors reassures us of our success in the role of enriching Dorchester with our continued efforts. SOME OF OUR SERVICES Corporate Events |
